The official launch doesn’t take place until 16th July but Rangers have released images and quotes surrounding their new home kit for 2009 / 2010.

Made by Umbro, the new kit for the Scottish Champions has already received some pretty upbeat reaction from Rangers fans plus of course, the usual knocking pieces from Celtic supporters pretending to be Rangers fans!

The retro feel kit got the thumbs up from midfielder Kevin Thomson who said:

I really like the design of the new strip and I am sure it will be a hit with our supporters.I knew Rangers were a big club when I joined but when you see thousands of fans in Scotland and abroad wearing the kit with pride you realise how massive the club really is.

Hopefully we can be as successful in the new strip as we were last season.

Here’s the Everton Away Shirt for the 2009-10 season.

The new Everton away shirt is manufactured by Le Coq Sportif with the brand logo appearing on the right chest of the shirt and the club badge on the left.

The shirt is black with pink horizontal stripes on the front. The away shirt will be worn with black shorts and socks both with pink detailing.

The use of salmon pink actually dates back to Everton’s first days at Goodison Park but has been resurrected twice in recent seasons.

In 1992-93 and 2001-02 the club produced horrendous away strips in a supposed tribute to those early years, but the sight of bleach-blonde haired Abel Xavier in pink and black still haunts many Evertonians to this day.

Arsenal have revealed their third choice kit made by Nike for the 2009/2010 season.

Available to pre-order now and on sale from Thursday 23rd July, the kit echoes design elements of the north London club’s away kit including a white shirt with redcurrant pinstripes and a polo collar.

Further shirt details include a panel of horizontal stripes at the back of the shirt, to mirror the craftsmanship of a fine English shirt. Inside the collar is a high quality woven label that reads Arsenal, while engineered in to the side seam is a small red label featuring two Arsenal canons either side of the club motto, ‘Victoria Concordia Crescit,’ which translates as ‘Victory Through Harmony.’

As with all Gunners replica kits, the shirt is made from Nike’s innovative Dri-Fit fabric, which keeps players drier, cooler and lighter by drawing sweat from the body to the fabric’s surface, while it’s three-dimensional construction gives more air space around the skin to reduce clinging.

The away shorts are anthracite grey with a redcurrant stripe along the side, a graphic showing an Arsenal canon is on the back of the waistband, while the draw cords feature Arsenal’s name on the tips. The socks are white with vertical redcurrant pinstripes and an anthracite stripe on the top band with Arsenal printed on the calf.

Adult shirts are priced at £40 (£45 long sleeved), with children’s shirts at £33 (£35 long sleeved).

After all the build up, all the intrigue and a game of cat and mouse that would have done Tom & Jerry proud, Footy Boots can at last reveal the Manchester United home kit for the 2009 / 2010 season.

In the centenary year for Old Trafford Nike designers have included several design features that pay homage to the side that first played at the Theatre of Dreams.

The new shirt features a large chevron across the chest, which echoes the same pattern United wore on their shirts during the 1909-10 season when Old Trafford first opened.  The distinctive angle of the chevron also directly replicates the one found at the bottom of the club crest containing United’s red devil.  The chevron augments the upper chest area of the shirt and Nike maintain that it gives United’s players an even bigger and more intimidating appearance.

The kit has certainly proved a hit with the players including Rio Ferdinand who said:

You feel very proud every time you put the United kit on. When I first signed that was the thing I was most looking forward to – putting it on and seeing how it felt. I was like an excited kid! I’m sure we’ll all be buzzing when we run out in the new kit next season.

Chelsea new home kit for 2009 / 2010 didn’t exactly get universal approval when it was released a few weeks ago so it’ll be interesting what fans make of the new away kit which was revealed today.

Made by adidas in Dark Navy and Neon Yellow, the shirt is now available for pre-order, goes on retail sale on 23rd July and will be worn by the Chelsea first team a day later when they meet AC  Milan.

Engineered mesh in the fabric on the front of the shirt, coupled with the 3D Formotion cut allows complete freedom of movement. Waffled Climacool fabric and mesh panelling across major sweat zones will increase comfort and ensure players remain cool and dry (unless they get a Norwegian ref again).

The shirt also has a new collar design tipped in neon yellow, giving a ‘v’ neck impression with the Chelsea lion printed on the back of the neck.

The short sleeved version will cost you £39.99 with outsize and long sleeved shirts coming in at £44.99.

Tottenham fans will remember all to well that 3 points were pretty hard to come by last season. So perhaps it’s a statement of intent by the London club that they’ve revealed 3 new kits for season 09 / 10 all at once.

The new home kit (as shown) comes with yellow ‘V type’ piping around the neck, a pattern that is repeated on the blue away strip. The club’s 3rd kit is an all yellow affair, though thankfully, way better than the now infamous Newcastle United effort for next season.

Made by Puma, the shirts all bear sponsor Mansion House’s name with the away and 3rd kits also featuring the wording in Chinese.

As for showing off the new kits, Spurs will wear the home kit during the Wembley Cup against Barcelona on 24th July with the 3rd kit also getting an outing in the tournament against Celtic two days later. Fans of the blue away kit will have to wait until early August when the Tottenham, players run out against Olympiakos at White Hart Lane.

Trying to get hold of an official shot of the new Manchester United shirt over the past few weeks has been about as tricky as finding a tastefully dressed, holidaying Premier League player.

But with the launch of the new home kit for 2009 / 2010 now imminent, Nike and the Old Trafford club have released these ‘teaser’ images of Rio Ferdinand, Wayne Rooney and Ji-sung Park wearing the new attire.

The kit has been designed by Nike to recognise the clubs glorious history at Old Trafford in the ground’s centenary year and features several design features that pay homage to the side that first played at the Theatre of Dreams.

United’s first-team stars have already taken part in a photoshoot wearing the new kit, but it will be kept strictly under wraps until the official unveiling on July 1st. The Reds fly to Kuala Lumpur for the Asia Tour on July 16th, where they will wear the new kit for the first time.

Only recently, the club confirmed that they had agreed the most lucrative shirt sponsorship deal in the history of football – a four year deal with American financial giant Aon Corp thought to be worth around £80 million.

The new deal will start in June 2010 after current sponsors AIG finish their association.

The football shirt people over at FootballShirtCulture.com have given us the heads up on what looks likely to be the new Liverpool 3rd Shirt for the coming season.

It’s due for an official launch on August 27th 2009.

Manchester United have now confirmed they have agreed the most lucrative shirt sponsorship deal in the history of football

Manchester United have a agreed a four-year deal with American financial giant Aon Corp. They will now wear Aon Corp logo on the front of their shirts in a deal thought to be worth £80million.

United’s current sponsor AIG, an American insurance firm, said in January that it would not be renewing its £14m per year contract after it suffered huge losses during the global economic downturn. But, United were confident of securing an improved deal when their AIG contract ends in May 2010 and they looked to be proved right.

AIG will continue to have its name on the Manchester United’s shirts next season, before Aon take over the sponsorship in June 2010.

David Gill, the United chief executive:

We are delighted to be entering such an important relationship with a company of the stature of Aon and to have its logo adorn our shirts from the start of the 2010-11 season.

As the football calendar draws to a close, following Barcelona’s European victory and Chelsea’s FA Cup success, the season for new kits takes centre stage.

Olympique de Marseille, who remain the only French team to have ever won the Uefa Champions League, have unveiled their new home and away kits made by adidas for the 09/10 season.

The upcoming campaign will celebrate 110 years of the French football club and to mark the anniversary the new shirts will contain an embroidered logo marking this historic year.

And finally this week we bring you the news that N-GAGED will be Bristol Rovers’ home shirt sponsors for next season with solicitors Stevens Hewlett and Perkins as the away shirt sponsor.

The new training and recruitment company, based in Longwell Green, England were the first business to be pulled out of the velvet bag in the Rovers shirt sponsorship draw, an initiative to combat the credit crunch we informed you of a few weeks back.

The draw appealed to a wide cross section of people, attracting attention from large national businesses right through to small local companies.

Starting with FC Barcelona, who have unveiled their new 09/10 football kit made by Nike, with the design for the first choice strip reverting back to the traditional navy blue and claret vertical stripes whilst the second strip is a bright mango colour.

The first choice shirt recovers the traditional navy blue and claret vertical stripes but is now edged with a thin yellow line and has a V-neck and sleeve borders with a subtle black and yellow stripe. Appearing on the back of the neck is the Catalan flag, the Senyera.

A label is sewn on the inside of the neck with “Més que un club” (More than a club) and attached to the side stitching is another small label with the name of the club.

The official shorts are a classic navy blue with a claret stripe down the side and the Senyera is incorporated on the back of the waistband. The cords have the stripes of the Catalan flag and the socks have horizontal claret and blue stripes, a yellow edging and have the word “Barça” stamped on the calf.

It’s now official, Arsenal’s new away shirt for the 2009-2010 season will be blue.

Leaked images suggested that this would be the case but now these pictures of Arsenal’s stars confirm the new attire Arsenal will wear on their travels.

This will not be the first time Arsenal’s away kit is in blue. Arsenal’s first blue away kit was seen in 1918. Since then Arsenal have chosen blue a total of eight times.

Due for release in June, the away kit is changed every season with the outgoing away kit becoming the third choice kit, which is used for games where both the first and second choice colours clash with those of Arsenal’s opponents.
