A day after sacking Claudio Ranieri, Juventus have announced that Fabio Cannavaro is to rejoin the club.

The Italian captain has signed a 1 year deal to return to the club that he left in 2006 for a 3 year spell at Real Madrid.

Feelings about his return could be mixed in Turin as he angered fans by leaving the club after they were demoted following a match fixing scandal. However, the 35 year old said:

cannavaro back with juventus I am happy to be back in Turin and to have the opportunity to again wear the black and white jersey.

I’m sorry that among some of the fans there still prevails rancor rather than appreciating the glorious seasons that we lived together.

Following Ranieri’s departure, Juventus are currently being coached by former defender Ciro Ferrara.
