Copa America 2007 Tournament Final Result Brazil 3 - 0 Argentina

Almost as Footy Boots had predicted, Brazil sambered their way to their second successive Copa America tournament win, dispatching Argentina 3-0 in the final game of the Copa America 2007 tournament. The result was a sweet victory for the fans and for under-fire coach Dunga, who had been missing stars such as Ronaldinho, Lucio, Kaka, Ronaldo, Ze Roberto and Adriano. Argentina were missing the drive, passion and commitment that was seen in the early stages, which had led many experienced and well-respected football commentators to predict a victory for the classy and experienced team.

In the end, Brazil were happy to sit back and hit Argentina on the counter attack, a ploy which suited the Brazilian players, and led to a frustrating evening for the opposition. Goals from Julio Baptista (Nike Total 90 Laser football boots), Alves (Nike Mercurial Vapor III) and an own goal by a hesitant Roberto Ayala (Nike Total 90 Laser) sealed the victory for Brazil - leaving Argentina crying. In terms of football boots news on the match, we were interested to see Brazil’s Diego wearing Adidas Predator football boots. Diego is a poster boy for Nike, featuring heavily as part of the Nike Team T90, and we wonder if this is a permanent defection from Nike to Adidas football boots, or just a temporary football boot malfunction?

Verdict: The interesting factor from an observer’s point of view was the switch by Brazil in this tournament from the espousers and pioneers of “the beautiful game” to a more rugged and overall “European” style of play, that although secured the top prize, would not have won over the hearts and minds of the fans back home, whose clamour and fervour for football played with passion, flair and creativity overcomes the need for silverware and tournament wins. Is this a new direction by coach Dunga, or simply a tactical change in the light of a depleted squad - only time will tell…

It was obvious, wasn’t it? That Brazil will win the Copa America Final…

No it wasn’t actually. I thought it was going to be Argentina. They played better in the matches leading up to the final. But in the final, Brazil just defended really well. They got the early lead and then they didn’t give an inch of space to any of the Argentine stars and broke on the counter attack.

I also wonder why is Diego wearing that blue adidas predator absolutes. As far as I know, he is one of the players in Nike Team T90. I hope to know the answer, as to why is he wearing adidas instead of Nike…

Definately agree with you there Alex, Argentina definately took hold of the pre final games, where as brazil struggled without ronaldinho and kaka.

I thought 200% that the Argentines would of walked away with the Copa America title, showing there experience throughout the whole team.

Congratulations to Brazil,be good to see if England are lucky enough to be invited to the next one!!!

I think Diego has permanently switch to adidas. There’s a link to adidas from his website,www.diego10.br
