Dimitar Berbatov Football Boots Powers Spurs to the UEFA Cup Quarter Finals
Dimitar Berbatov Scores Twice to take Tottenham into the last eight of the UEFA Cup
Tottenham’s Dimitar Berbatov kept up his incredible scoring form in the UEFA Cup to help Spurs into the Quarter Finals of the competitio. Berbatov, wearing Adidas Predator Absolute Power football boots, scored twice to take his tally to seven in the UEFA Cup: the first a cheeky outside-of-the-boot finish and the second a well taken volley in a game which finished 3-2, taking Spurs through 6-4 on aggregate.
Spurs were exciting to watch, but yet again their defense remains fallible and will give their opponents hope in the closing rounds of the competition. But in striker Berbatov, Spurs look to have a player hungry for goals and quickly repaying his £10 million transfer fee.

The Bulgarain 26 year old, has had an eventful history, most notoriously being sold for “a few thousand pounds and 20 pairs of football boots” when he moved from Pirin to CSKA Sofia in 1997. After a bleak period with the Bulgarian club, he was spotted and transferred to German team Bayer Leverkusen in 2001 for £1.56 million (and no footy boots!). There he made himself an impressive regular in the team, netting 69 goals in 154 appearances.
In May 2006, Berbatov joined Tottenham Hotspur for a fee of £10.9 million making him the most expensive Bulgarian player in history. He immediately made an impact scoring 2 goals in 2 minutes in his first match as a Tottenham player against Birmingham in a pre-season friendly match. Since then his ability as a striker, his deft control and off the ball skills have made him an integral part of a resurgent Tottenham team.
Our Verdict: Berbatov, the Andy Garcia look alike, has travelled a long road since leaving his native Bulgaria, and has experienced a mix of highs and lows that belie his young years. As long as he maintains his blistering goal scoring form, he could lead Tottenham to European glory and a top five position in the premiership, and take his place as the Godfather of White Hart Lane.

Hopefully he’ll be wearing RED next season. Can you see him matched up with Ronaldo? They would be a lights out pair.
