GavelPop star Mick Hucknall looks like taking a £25,000 hit on a pair of signed David Beckham football boots that he’s planning to sell.

The Simply Red front man bought the boots for £29,000 at a pre 2002 World Cup charity party hosted by Beckham and his wife Victoria.

The red and white Adidas Predator boots bear a personal message from Beck’s which reads: ‘To Mick, Best Wishes, David Beckham 7’.

Manchester United fan Hucknall is a well known buyer of football memorabilia but has decided to scale down his collection.

The boots are expected to fetch between £3,000 and £5,000 at a sale later today in Scotland and auctioneer David Convery said:

Norwich limited edition It’s a good time to buy Beckham memorabilia as it’s not as valuable as it once was.

But when he breaks Bobby Moore’s appearance record for England, values will rise.

  • BOL Says:

I got a signed Beckham shirt from his 100th appearance with the whole team signatures and a photo with certificate of authenticity for 120 quid!

So I would have to say no it hasn’t got the appeal it once had.
