Nicklas Bendtner was the first to debut the Nike Mercurial Vapor Berry’s during Arsenal’s 3-0 away loss to Manchester City. As has been the case with the White/Blue Spark/Metallic Silver Vapor IV’s and the Euro Vapors, Nike decided not to make a SL version availible to the public. Only Nike footballers receive the SL version of those colourways by request making them more exclusive and extremely difficult to come by.

The Nike Mercurial Vapor V is scheduled to be released in April 2009. The first two colurways to be unveiled will be Max Orange/Abyss- Metallic Silver and Abyss/Max Orange- White. The new design on the upper of the Vapor V is split into a silver colour contrast, appearing as a racing stripe that extends from the tip of the football boot to the heel. Set to debut alongside the V’s are the Nike Mercurial Vapor Superfly’s which will take the place of the SL’s.

As you may already know, Nike produced a Gold/Black Nike Mercurial Vapor II a few years ago. Since then only the Italy 4 Star Nike Mercurial Vapor III’s have featured Gold.
