Pierce asked:
Hi Boot Geeks, I’ve heard about players football boots being customised. So does that mean when I buy a pair of boots in the shop, they are not what the pro’s are wearing?
Cheers,
Pierce
Answer
Hi Pierce,
Many pro’s do have their football boots customised. For example, recently both Agger of Liverpool and Litmanen of Fulham have had boots that offer aid for injury.
Other examples are some players have different soleplates - a hybrid screw in sole and moulded mix for example.
It’s also common for players to remove a tongue, or add messaging to their boots.
Ultimately the football boots the pro’s wear are based very closely on the boots you will buy and wear on the pitch, but sometimes with minor modifications.
