Kieran Osborne asked:
Couple of boot spots maybe. Has Valencia swapped to Nike boots? What type of boot it Assou-Ekotto wearing? Thanks (:
Answer
Hi Kieran!
That's right- Nike haven't confirmed it, but Antonio Valencia has been spotted in both the new Tiempo Legend IV and CTR360 II over the past 2 weeks.
As for Benoit, he's formerly a Puma man, but has been wearing the adidas adiPower Predator for the past 3 weeks, with (poorly) blacked-out stripes.
Hope that helps!
Ben Fusi asked:
where can i buy a pair of these?: http://www.footy-boots.com/puma-italia-four-star/
Answer
Hi Ben,
Unfortunately those puma football boots were made to commemorate the Italian team's World Cup victory in 2006, and were made in very limited amounts.
You'd have to try very hard to find a pair now, with eBay likely your best bet. Sorry we can't help more!
Rio White asked:
Hey, ive been wanting to get a pair of adipowers, but i saw a review saying that the t90 laser ivs were alot better, What boots t=do you recomenned. I like to to take lots of long shots and free kicks. In the reveiw it said that knuckling with the lasier ivs was very satisfying!
Answer
Hi Rio!
This is a tough question as they are two of the best boots on the market at the moment, and easily the two best power boots.
We'd have to say that both boots are excellent for the 'knuckle' effect you're after. Personally, I find that the adiPowers are easier to catch a knuckle in, but the Laser have a little more 'oomph' to them because of the weight.
I'd say they're both equal, so why not let the material choose for you? Do you massively prefer leather boots? Then it's gotta be the adiPower!
Jamie A asked:
Hi there looking to get some new boots and would like to try some very light boots and boots which have a good feel with the ball as if your playing in trainers/bare foot if you know what i mean lol. was thinking the adizeros or puma v1.10/11 sl but havent seen them in a uk size 12. Any suggestions? thanks :)
Answer
Puma's are fefinitely the way to go (though you want to be careful with the sizing) just because they really are shaped like feet. Don't be afraid to try out the regular v1.11's, but if you really want that barefoot feeling, it's well worth seeking out the SL's!
taylor asked:
iam a centre mid what are the best boots for me. the price doesnt matter
Answer
Many centre mids prefer something that's hard wearing, and with a great touch on the ball, so how's about something like the Puma King Finale, adiPower predator or CTR360?
If you're after something a little different, the Mizuno Supersonic Wave II is also a great bet!
James Mills asked:
Any idea if the current Adipower series are likely to feature the facility to use the new Adidas miCoach? I love the idea, but I'm not an adizero fan.
Answer
Hi James,
We're not expecting to see adidas add this to the adiPower in it's lifespan, however, by the time the Euro's roll around in Summer next year, adidas will have two more miCoach enabled boots to boast, the adiPure 11pro just after Christmas and the Predator D5 in the summer.
Hope you can hold out til then!
aga asked:
dear geeks, i need to buy cleats soon, my choice is between adiZero leather and CTR360 Elite, can you suggest me? my feet is wide too.. thanks
Answer
Hi Aga,
Both of the boots you mentioned are pretty accommodating for wide feet, so they're great choices.
However, we think the CTR is the better all-around boot, but if you're after speed, the adiZero are the football boots for you!
Andy B asked:
What boots is sergio ramos wearing now? I was watching the Spain vs Scotland match and could just see blacked out boots. Any info would be great
Answer
Hey Andy,
Sergio is not wearing a new football boot, he's simply blacking out his boots as he is out of contract with a boot sponsor right now.
Cheers,
The Geeks
Francois asked:
i have been after the new adizeros for AGES they are the new ones that messi wore against nigeria do you know when these will be released to the public
Answer
We're hearing the 1st of December 2011, but with this early reveal we're not sure what to expect at the moment!
mike asked:
what exactly is micoach which is appearing with the new adidas cleats.
Answer
MiCoach is currently part of adidas' running and fitness range. It tracks movement and stride length to give you real-time fitness coaching.
In football we imagine it will be used to measure how far a player has run, what their top speed was, and other stats to get feedback on after the game!
Paul asked:
Hello, are the adipure sl boots good for shooting?
Answer
As good as any other adiPure football boots!
Wayne asked:
Hello Geniuses! Could you advise me on the durability of adipowers? Thank you
Answer
Hey Wayne!
We think the new adiPower Predators are an exceptionally durable football boot.
However! If you play on artificial turf, that toe-end can become prone to separating due to the high amounts of friction.
If you just play on grass, you should be A-OK!
CThunderW asked:
Simple Question: Puma V1.11 vs. Adizeros? I haven't heard anything about how Pumas help a shot like how people claim the Adizeros do. If I'm looking for a speed boot that isn't going to kill my shot (like I feel the vapors do), are the adizeros the right choice?
Answer
We've just started using the Puma v1.11 in a test now and despite being a speed boot - they're very different to the adiZero.
If you like a solid boot with a big heel counter, carbon fibre sole and great traction then the Puma v1.11 are probably what you're after.
However, if you want the lightest of the light, where there's literally nothing between you and the ball, go for the adiZero.
When it comes to shooting, it depends on what you feel would hamper your shot. I like the feel of nothing between the foot and the ball, so I can get a really flush connection - so the adiZeros are good for that. If you're the same as me, you've definitely made the right choice!
ben asked:
hi guys do you know where you can buy underwrap for you ankles and how do you keep your boots from ripping
Answer
Most underwrap is made by a company called Cramer - if you Google 'Cramer UnderWrap' you'll get dozens of places to buy!
As for rips, if a boot rips because of a bad tackle, that's just one of those things. If it rips when you pull the laces, you should get in touch with nike/adidas/Puma and see if it's covered by the warranty.
Everything else, however, is just good football boots maintenance. Make sure you clean them after a wear, that there's no mud between the upper and soleplate and finally that you stuff them with paper to dry naturally - not in front of a radiator, fire or other heat source!
joanne perrin asked:
