Zlatan Ibrahimovich has continued to stick with his Euro 08 edition Nike Mercurial Vapor SL’s despite the tournament being over. The reason for this is most likely that he likes the fit and touch better than the teijin microfiber used for the other Nike Mercurial Vapor IV’s. The only difference with his is that he has blacked out all visible Nike swooshes for an unknown reason.

As far as we know Nike will not be producing a black colourway of the Nike Mercurial Vapor IV’s unfortunately. NIKEiD is your best bet if you really want some blackout Nike boots, but you would have to settle with the Nike Mercurial Talaria IV’s.

David Beckham’s Adidas Predator PowerSwerve’s will implement a feature new to the Predator line. Like some of Adidas’ F50 series boots, the boots upper will be made with ClimaCool technology. From the information our friends at Concave have given us, the Concave football boots will be released in the United States shortly after the launch in the United Kingdom. They should be available to purchase from Eurosport or its website Soccer.com if  the negotiations between the two companies  are finalized. In the modern game, many national team’s kit suppliers have various reasons for producing third kits. Some may be dedicated to honor a special event or occasion, or to simply prevent clashing colours with the opposition. Others may  be produced for a tournament, but the most likely reason third kits are produced for national teams is simply to increase shirt sales by making them limited edition or something along those lines.
