Lotto Special Edition Zhero Gravity Football Boots

Championship Edition of Lotto Zhero Gravity for Julio Cruz

Italian football boot maker, and producer of the world’s first laceless football boot, Lotto has unveiled a special edition version of the Zhero Gravity, made exclusively for their star player Julio Cruz. The limited edition football boot has been produced to celebrate Inter Milan’s successful retention of the Serie A championship.

Lotto Zhero Gravity Special Edition Julio Cruz

In honour of their star player, Lotto have created an dramatically coloured football boot that has the tricoloured Italian flag as its theme, with a red flame on the sides, Lotto’s familiar diamond logo in green as well as the heel and sole, with the remaining football boot in white. The Lotto Zhero Gravity includes an Italian championship shield, incorporating a blue-and-black number 15, as a mark of Inter’s 15th championship win.

Lotto Julio E Zhero Gravity Campioni D’Italia - Limited Edition

Lotto is only making three pairs of this special football boot, all of which are going to Julio Cruz. All credit to the Inter player as he will be auctioning the stylish football boots in aid of the Obra del Padre Mario Pantaleo charity, which is based in Buenos Aires and works to help people and families in the outlying districts of the Argentinian capitol city. The auction is being held on May 24th as part of a fund-raising evening for the charity. With the extremely limited number, these could well become collectors items, and for any Inter Milan fans surely the ultimate football boot that combines Lotto’s legendary styling with the Italian national colours to produce a dazzling design reflects Cruz’s classy performances this season.

Wayne Rooney Nike Total 90 Laser Football Boots

Rooney Wears New Nike T90 Laser Football Boots

Rooney Wears New Nike T90 Laser Football BootsManchester United striker Wayne Rooney finally wore his new Nike Total 90 Laser football boot, almost a week after he first launched them. There were mutterings and rumours after the Champions League semi-final where Rooney wore his “old” football boot, as he was expected to trot out in the new T90 Laser. The Sunday Mirror even reported that manager Alex Ferguson had blocked Rooney playing in his new boots, under the headline “Rooney in boot riddle”! This all stems from Rooney’s debut on the Total 90 Supremacy, in which he broke his metatarsal at a crucial stage of last season. But any concerns were all forgotten, as Rooney wore the Nike Total 90 Laser in the black and white T90 colourway against Everton on Saturday even scoring in them and giving a typically blustering and hard-working performance.

Nike Total 90 Laser Football Boots WhiteIt appears that Rooney wanted to give his new football boots some more time in training - although the reason for the change in the Nike T90 Laser colourway from yellow to black/white is not known -yet!

Nike Total 90 Laser Players

Footballers tend to wear customised versions of the football boot, to maximise their strengths and as yet we are waiting to see the new T90 Laser’s skeleton sole plate in action, even though the Nike football boot has started to be worn by professional players across the football world, including William Gallas, Jonathan Bornstein and Claude Makelele.

Nike Total 90 Laser Football Boots Colourways

Nike T90 Laser Football Boot

Footy-Boots has had lots of requests for more information on the new Nike Total 90 Laser football boot, which was launched last week by Wayne Rooney. The new Nike football boots’ upper comes in either kangaroo or kng-100 on the firm ground and on the soft ground in Teijin synthetic leather or kangaroo, both the fg and sg versions are priced the same by Nike.

The big topic seems to be colourway - many footy boot fans are not taken with the yellow, or zest (to use Nike’s term for the colourway). So far, unfortunately, we have only seen the T90 Laser in this, as worn by Wayne Rooney in training and Claude Makelele in action this week.

Reebok Sprintfit Football Boots

New Reebok Sprintfit Football Boots Launched

Reebok SprintfitReebok has started to release details on the new Reebok Sprintfit football boot, which is to be worn by their sponsored players, including Thierry Henry, Andriy Shevchenko, Ãker Casillas and Ryan Giggs. The Sprintfit design marks a departure for Reebok from the previous incarnation, the Reebok Pro Rage, and sees the new football boot take on an elegant and muted styling, which will be available in a range of colourways. Arsenal’s Thierry Henry is already said to be wearing the red colourway for Arsenal and blue when playing for France, and we await further details on the other Reebok players choices.

About the Reebok Sprintfit Football Boots

Reebok Sprintfit 3The Reebok Sprintfit is the lightest and most comfortable football boot that Reebok has ever produced, and is said to incorporate all the features required for the modern day professional footballer. Reebok have streamlined the football boot to remove any erroneous or inefficient parts to produce a quality football boot with the performance that is expected at this high level.

The new Sprintfit is produced using superior microfiber and impermeable Teijin to reduce weight and to produce the feeling of a lightweight football boot when it is worn to increase the player’s contact when striking the ball. This fiber also adds comfort due to its qualities of water resistance, its ability to “sweat” and retaining the shape of the football boot.

The Reebok Sprintfit has been designed to follow the anatomical contour of the foot to maximise the movement and flexibility when in use. Reebok has also taken on recent concerns on protection given by modern day football boots, by changing the design to increase levels of stability and protection. The woven exterior is used to control and to regulate the humidity and temperature within the boot, helping to reduced the the risk of blisters.

Reebok Players on the Sprintfit Football Boot

Reebok Sprintfit 2Arsenal’s Thierry Henry says “Sprintfit is definitely a boot for me. It has everything that I believe is important in a boot. It is comfortable and light. Reebok has obtained the perfect balance between weight, support and protection”. Chelsea’s Andriy Shevchenko focused on the flexibility and protection aspects, saying “Sprintfit adapts like no other boot that I have had, it is a simple design simple, but full of characteristics that help my game. It gives me more protection than other boots that I have used”.

Finally, Iker Casillas of Real Madrid said “the Sprintfit boots have very good stability, a characteristic that allows me to concentrate during the game without having to worry about the footwear. This is one of the most comfortable that I have ever had”.

The Reebok Sprintfit will be seen in action from May and will be available to buy from June with a RRP of £125.

Joe Cole Gives Chelsea Slender Lead in Semis

Cole the King as Chelsea Take the Upper Hand Against Liverpool

Joe Cole capped a fine return to action with the solitary goal in the 29th minute to give Chelsea a slight advantage against arch-rivals Liverpool in the battle for a place in the Champions League Final. Chelsea had the better chances, with Frank Lampard coming close, only to be denied by Liverpool keeper Pepe Reina. For Liverpool, Steven Gerrard came closest with a flashing volley that was somehow stopped by Chelsea’s talisman keeper, Petr Cech. Although the game promised much, in the end the teams were divided only by the goal as the pressure and intensity of the game took its toll on tired and weary legs.

The game was special for footy boot fans for the premier of the Nike T90 Laser football boot, worn by Chelsea’s Claude Makélélé. The Nike football boot was due to be worn by Wayne Rooney, but it appears the Chelsea man beat him to the limelight on this occasion. Bravo Claude!

A Tribute to Alan Ball

England Football Legend Alan Ball Dies, Aged 61

England legend, and football boot pioneer Alan Ball has died at the age of 61. The legendary 1966 World Cup Winner passed away last night after a suspected heart attack in news that has sent shock-waves through the footballing world.

Alan-Ball-White-Boots95.gifAlan hailed from Lancashire, which gave him his first football club, Blackpool in 1962. Ball remained there until 1966, where his profile and proficiency bought him to household attention due to his performances within the World Cup winning team. His raised profile led Everton to break the British transfer record to tempt him away from Blackpool for £110,000 in August 1966. Having won the league championship with Everton in 1970, Arsenal broke the transfer record once again in 1972, paying Everton £220,000 for the 26 year old Ball.

By the mid 1970’s Ball had gained 72 England caps, also skippering the side in 5-1 win against Scotland at Wembley. Ball then moved from Arsenal to Southampton for £60,000 in December 1976 and after a spell in the fledgling North American Soccer League, returned home as player-manager of Blackpool. This ended with a move to Southampton and then Bristol Rovers, where he ended his playing career in 1983 after playing 975 games over 21 years.

The eighties and nineties saw Alan Ball in a variety of clubs in a rather less successful career than his footballing achievements. His clubs included Stoke, Exeter, Southampton, Manchester City and Portsmouth where he ended his managerial career in 1999. Ball was awarded the MBE in 2000.

Alan Ball will be remembered most fondly as the youngest of the 1966 World Cup winners, and a player whose drive, determination and love of the game endeared him to a nation that today mourns the loss of a footballing great. For football boot fans, Alan Ball will remain a legend for his donning of the first white football boots in the 1970-71 season which marked a turning point in the design and style of football boots.

Wayne Rooney Football Boots Conquer Kaka and AC Milan

It’s Rooney vs Kaka as Ronaldo Looks On

The game had been billed as the battle between Kaka and Ronaldo, Adidas vs Nike, but in the end it was Rooney who claimed victory, as he outshone all those around him as Manchester United came from behind to beat AC Milan 3-2.

Kaka’s Crackers

Adidas KakaKaka impressed early on, with his effortless touch, speed and power wearing the Adidas Predator Absolutes, grabbing two goals that may prove to be crucial in the second leg. United’s defence looked shaky and at times a shambles, with Gabriel Heinze, wearing white Puma V-Konstruct football boots, colliding with a fellow defender to gift Milan the second away goal. But up front, Scholes and Rooney were in no mood to accept defeat.

Wayne Rooney Nike Total 90 lasersWayne Rooney left his new T90 Laser football boots on the training field, preferring his trusted Nike Total 90 Supremacy, and the decision looked a wise one, as even though he can’t match Adidas poster boy Kaka on looks, on the field he matched him for quality, passion and goals. Kaka disappeared for the last 20 minutes of the game (he was “tired”), during which time Rooney showed his class and encapsulated the spirit of a team with a determination to win that will prove a tough test for AC Milan in next week’s second leg.
